Greetings! The 2013 Semi-finalists have been privately notified. As always, we were impressed with the caliber of the work and look forward to selecting the next class!  

For National Poetry Month and in partnership with Carlos Flores from Department of Health, National Student Poet Lylla Younes was a showcase poet at 2013 Poetry/Slam Fiesta, hosted by the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico! Go Lylla!

Missed National Student Poet Natalie Richardson read her poetry on WFMT Chicago Radio for their Thursday segment “Introductions”? Here she is now! Congratulations Natalie on an insightful interview and fabulous reading! 

National Student Poet Claire Lee takes a moment to read her scholars’ poems during her workshop at the East Harlem Tutorial Program. Beginning on April 3, Claire Lee led an eight workshop series with two 4th grade classes. After a wonderful month of writing and discussing the merits of poetry, her workshop ended on Monday, April 29. National Student Poet Claire Lee designed her own curriculum and offered one-on-one support for her budding class poets.
